From November 23 to the end of December, the Market Square and the area will turn into a big Christmas Market

Christmas market in Wroclaw is one of the most beautiful fairs in Poland. From the end of November, to the new year, the heart of Wrocław is teeming with life even harder than usual. Wroclaw's Market is turning into the magical world of Christmas splendor, it is stunned by the fervent colors, flavors, smells and attitudes prepared for tourists and residents of Wrocław.

Among Christmas trees smelling of a forest, the aroma of mulled wine and chocolate gingerbread, a multitude of attractions and surprises await the inhabitants of Wrocław and tourists. ATTRACTIONS ON PLAC SOLNY On Plac Solny there will be new attractions, e.g. the three story fairytale house with an observation deck and a tower with an illuminated clock. In the house you will be able to get warm in the glow of the fireplace, drink warm beverages and pleasantly spend time in a Christmas fairytale space, and admire the panorama of the Christmas Market from another angle. This uncommon attraction will only be available during the Christmas Market and will charm everybody! Plac Solny will become a magical magnet, and attract and welcome to the center of the Christmas culinary and entertainment area where we will feel the unique atmosphere of Christmas. The visitors of the Christmas Market will be able to see the “Gallery of Santa Claus” on Plac Solny for the first time – a three story attraction which will encourage everybody to see it with its fairytale Christmas decoration. It’s a must-see! Near the „Gallery of Santa Claus” you will find a special place which successfully operates on Plac Solny since a few months. Hidden in the underground of Plac Solny – Movie Gate – Galeria Sztuki Filmowej, will transport us to a world of film, science and history. A unique exhibition, composed of original costumes, props from the biggest productions of cinema, will enable you to dive into a world which was only available on the big screens in cinemas. During the Christmas Market there will be interactive “Shows of the Helpers of Crazy Santa Claus” in Movie Gate.n the Fairytale Copse beautiful fairytales will await the youngest guests of the Christmas Market. Their magical visual and sound will lead all toddlers into a real fairytale world. “Little Red Riding Hood”, “The Brave Little Tailor”, “Snow White” or “Pinokio” are only a part of this amazing adventure. Next to the “Dwarf's House”, which is guarded by lamplighter dwarves, the Dwarf's Mushroom will appear, which you will be able to enter and where you can take an awesome picture. The Fireplace House with outdoor fireplaces is sure to appear, where you will be able to warm yourself on a real flame and the aromatic mulled wine. Traditionally, the Gate of the Christmas Market, which greets all guests on Świdnicka Street and leads into a magical Christmas atmosphere will also be there. The magical atmosphere will be brought by artistic events. The series of events will start on 2nd December on Sunday. The visitors of the Christmas Market will be spectators of the magical show “Christmas through fairytales”. And on 6th December the festive greeting of Santa Claus and the official lightning of the Christmas Tree will take place. From 6th to 16th December the stage of the Christmas Market will be open, where you will be able to see artistic performances of the youngest and Christmas concerts, which are organized in collaboration with Wrocławskie Centrum Rozwoju Społecznego. On 9th December the traditional Christmas parade with Santa Claus will take place and have its finale on the stage. On 16th December the parade on the Market Square will be led by Wrocław’s elves. The series of shows will end with the “Christmas Carol Singer Parade” on 23rd December. On 24th December on Wrocław’s Market Square next to the Christmas tree there will be a “Christmas Dinner for Lonely and Needy” organized by the City of Wrocław. t one of the most beautiful Christmas Markets there will be a multitude of delicacies. In the Christmas houses you will not only be able to taste aromatic mulled wine and sweet gingerbread, but also delicacies, which cannot be found elsewhere. Among the tastes and aromas you will find excellent specialties: Alsatian Flammkuchen, French salami, Indian samosa, cured meats from Podlasie, honey from Dolny Śląsk, Turkish baklava, Portuguese desserts and also fairy-tale “Wrocław Town Houses” in the form of gingerbread, which can be found in the stylish Wooden Windmill. This year the “Wrocław Town Houses” celebrate their fourth anniversary. There will also be Christmas sweets: tasty Spanish churros, fruits in chocolate, waffles, Hungarian kolacz. This year Hungarian kolacz will appear in a special version – salty. You can try this version of kolacz in a house next to the Fredro monument. For the first time on the Market Square there will be a station with Italian cuisine. On the southern frontage of the Market Square you will be able to taste roasted pasta in different variations as well as the traditional Italian sandwich panuozzo. On the northern frontage of the Market Square there will be a zone called “Wrocław Socially and Locally”, where – thanks to the participation of the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesia Voivodeship – certified exhibitors of the Regional Culinary Heritage Europe network will present themselves. In the wooden houses you will be able to find a manufactory of regional crafted articles from Lower Silesia. There will be cheese and cured meats made using traditional recipes, and also honey from apiaries from Lower Silesia and gingerbread, among other things. “Wrocław Socially and Locally” is also a place where the city’s organization which help socially disadvantaged people will present their work. The Christmas Market is also an ideal place for those, who want to give their dear ones something special. In the beautiful wooden houses, you will be able to choose Christmas gifts among a multitude of rarities. This year a novelty among handicraft products will be original, handmade watches, artistic jewelry in the form of silver melded with other materials e.g. fabric, Christmas decorations made out of glass, clay and cast iron, figurines with Swarowski stones, pearl jewelry, “mini gardens” encased in glass, pictures from natural plants and natural cosmetics on the base of beer made in a workshop in Wrocław. During the Christmas Market you will also be able to buy unique „dreamcatchers” from Peru, scented soap from Marseille, handmade decorations and Christmas trees, handmade mascots, blankets for children, colorful wooden toys, artistic jewelry made out of Baltic amber, decorations and jewelry from Zambia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Congo and Uganda. Enthusiasts of handicraft will not only be able to buy these amazing products, but also watch how they are being made. Near the Christmas tree, you will be able to order beautiful, handpainted glass balls with wishes or an inscription, a souvenir coin minted by a mint master or one of a kind personal horseshoe for luck made by a smith.
